About Yello! Your Local Creative Arts and Events Center

Yello is a dynamic, creative arts facility in the heart of Fort Lauderdale. Located conveniently on Commercial Boulevard, Yello offers an array of classes including ballet, jazz, hip hop, break dance, belly dance, lyrical, tap, ballroom, and so much more. In addition to the studio’s contribution to the arts, Yello advocates health and wellness for everyone and welcomes people of all ages. Marisa HormelFounder

Marisa is a graduate of Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art and a graduate of New York University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. While in NYC, she worked as a stockbroker having obtained both the Series 7 and Series 63 licenses. She is a member of Actor’s Equity Association and the Screen Actors Guild. She is a proud sponsor of the New York Foundation for the Arts, Chillfest, the Professional Dancers Society, the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation, the Organic Consumers Association, and the Organic Farming Research Foundation.

Karen BealOperations Manager

With over 15 years of restaurant and event management experience, Karen uses her trademark skills of problem solving, creativity, and flexibility to help clients produce unforgettable events. Some of her past clients have included national organizations and tech companies as well as numerous wedding receptions, birthday parties, and baby showers. Karen holds a B.S. in psychology from Nova Southeastern University and a M.A. in health education and promotion from the University of Alabama.

Noelia Bloom (Nellie)Studio Administrator

A Fort Lauderdale native, Nellie was raised in a house full of artists — her father and brothers are talented musicians and her mother was a published poet, painter, photographer, and dancer. Nellie, herself, enjoys experimenting with all kinds of musical instruments, dance disciplines, and mixed art styles. She has studied environmental science and is currently working towards a degree in Veterinary Technology. Working at Yello simply feels like an extension of home and she especially loves seeing new students take that first step of courage into the dance studio.

Cassandra CardenasMarketing, Social Media, and Events Manager

Cassandra comes to Yello with experience in marketing, pubic relations, social media and as a dancer and choreographer. A graduate of Otterbein University, Cassandra majored in both dance and broadcast media relations. She relocated to Fort Lauderdale in 2014 to further pursue a career in the arts and media relations.  At Yello, Cassandra puts her knowledge and passion to good use, overseeing a growing roster of unique events at Yello’s Studio Z, managing Yello’s social media, instructing children and adult dance classes, and coordinating both Yello performance opportunities as well as community events and festivals.

Mary Ellen KriegerCreative Director

With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design from Pennsylvania State University and after studying design abroad in Rome through Temple University’s Tyler School of Art, Mary Ellen has practiced graphic design for over twenty five years. She began her career in Los Angeles, developing an expertise in identity design and system development for a range of clients. She continued to grow her career in New York City and eventually found her way to Yello where she oversees all things “visual”.

Alan Nippert Chef

Chef Alan began his culinary career in 2007 at the Florida Culinary Institute in West Palm Beach. Earning his Culinary Arts Degree was a launching pad into the South Florida food scene. Alan has held various positions in restaurants, country clubs, catering companies, and has been a private chef for multiple clients including celebrities. He feels blessed to have trained alongside some of the best chefs in the country and believes that great mentorship is key to the success of any young ambitious professional. After an amazing spiritual encounter in early 2014, Alan began a change in direction and started pursuing a path based in wholeness and wellness of mind, spirit, and body. Since then, Alan and his family have fully moved towards plant-based nutrition, and not only believe in the amazing benefits plants have for your health, but also in the journey to educate and impact society with this growing revelation. You can find Chef Alan creating delicious organic, soy-free, gluten-free food for Yello events, the Grab n’ Go Retail Cooler and Yello’s Gotta Eat! Cafe opening Spring 2019.

Jennifer QuinnFinance Manager

Jennifer oversees finance, policies, procedures, and legal affairs. She earned her Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University in Southern California. Her clients include high-tech companies, not-for-profit organizations, and fashion designers.

Tali Santos Dance Studio Assistant Manager

Tali brings over 15 years of experience managing a large performing arts studio specializing in both recreational and pre-professional programs for children and adults alike. During that time, Tali expanded and managed a non-profit youth dance company. In her role as the dance company manager, Tali booked countless performances locally as well as nationally and internationally in places such as: Disney World, Universal Studios, Las Vegas, New York City, Chicago, Puerto Rico and on a variety of cruise lines. Several members of the dance company have gone on to have successful careers in the performing arts. Tali holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.

Desiree WyattMarketing, Events and Social Media

Born and raised in South Florida, Desiree is an alumna of Barry University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations. She has worked in the public relations and marketing fields identifying marketing strategies, writing press releases to promote clients, coordinating press conferences, developing social media content, and doing community outreach. She is very knowledgeable in media relations and enjoys writing. Desiree assists with the marketing, social media efforts and event planning for Yello and Food for Health Foundation.
